🎭 Las Vegas performing arts — because live theatre matters

Theatre is for everyone. We believe that.

About The House Is Open

We cover live performing arts because we believe the art form belongs to the whole community — not just people who already know the rules.

"The house is open" is what they announce backstage when the audience is allowed into the theatre. The curtain is about to go up. It means everyone is welcome — not just the subscribers, not just the critics, not just the people who've been going for decades. The house is open for everyone.

That's the mission. Theatre has a reputation for being intimidating, exclusive, expensive, and hard to understand if you didn't grow up with it. We don't think that's true, and we're not writing for people who believe it is.

We write for the person who's thinking about going to their first show. The parent who wants to take their kid to something that isn't a movie. The occasional theatregoer who wants to know which of the ten things currently playing in Las Vegas is worth their one night out this month.

Coverage: Reviews, first-timer guides, deal alerts, upcoming show listings. Primarily Las Vegas. No jargon required to understand any of it.

On Mental Health Content

Some of the shows we cover — like *Dear Evan Hansen* — deal directly with teen suicide, mental health, and related topics. We take this seriously. We include clear content advisories in every relevant review. If a production has a charity or support partner (BSC's *Dear Evan Hansen* is partnered with Hope Means Nevada), we note that too.

If you or someone you know is struggling: 988 (call or text, 24/7). You are not alone.
